Slender West Lake

The artificial lake built in the Qing Dynasty is the slender version of the West Lake in Hangzhou. The pleasant lake area is surrounded by weeping willows and Qiong flowers - the city flower of Yangzhou. The bridges and pavilions are the prime parts. The best photo spots include the Lotus Bridge, a distinct Chinese bridge architecture with five pavilions on it; the 30-metre-high White Pagoda modeled on Beihai White Pagoda in Beijing, which is said to have been built in one single night; the Xiao jin shan and Cui Platform. Another picturesque sight is the Twenty-four Bridge. The bridge spans the Slender West Lake from east to west, with 24 steps on both sides of it. The fairyland-like scenery is praised in a well known poem:"Twenty-four bridge's bright night, where the beauty taught to play xiao (a traditional Chinese woodwind instrument)."
