Introduction

Macau Intemational Airport (code MFM) opened in late 1995. It is linked by scheduled air services to Bangkok, Manila, Pyongyang, Seoul, Singapore, Vietnam, cities in Taiwan and major Chinese destinations, including Beijing, Chengdu, Ghongqing, Fuzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Kunming, Nanjing, Ningbo, Sanya, Shanghai, Zhang Jia Jie, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Xian, Wuhan and in the near future another new destination-Moscow, operated by Domodedovo Airlines.
The routes are operated by Air Macau, Air Koryo, China Northern, China Southern, Shanghai Airlines, China Northwest, China Southwest Airlines, EVA Airways, Singapore Airlines, TransAsia Airways, Xiamen Airlines and Yunnan Airlines.
In addition there are charter flights by All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines and Japan Air System from Niigata, Osaka, Sendai and other Japanese cities.
Air Macau is represented in Europe by TAP, in Australia/New Zealand by China Express in Sydney (tel. 61-2-290-1148, fax 61-2-290-1153), in Hong Kong by the China International Travel Service and in other parts of Asia by airlines operating into Macau. Air Macau (airline code NX) can be contacted direct, tel. (853) 396-555 or (853) 396-6888, fax (853) 396-6866.
There is also air service between Macau and Hong Kong, by the eight-seat helicopters of East Asia Airlines, which make about twenty- seven roundtrips a day between Hong Kong and Macau Ferry terminals. Starting 9:30 AM until 1O:30 PM. Travel time is just 16 minutes. Tickets cost (from HK) HK$1, 206 weekdays, HK$1,310 weekends and holidays; (from Macau) MOP/HK$ 1,205 and MOP/HK$1,309 including taxes.
Macau International Airport is also an entry and departure point for air travellers to and from Hong Kong. They can use the Macau ExpressLink transfer service that provides customised services for baggage handling, porterage, ferry and bus transfer services between Macau & Hong Kong. With luggage tagged to the flight destination and a special check-in desk for passengers departing Macau. Passengers are exempt from departure tax in Macau.
