Cybernetic Fountain
Situated in the Nam Van Lakes, with 86 water spouts, the tallest
reaching 80 meters in height. Around it is a fan of 86 water
jets, including also vertical water jets, parabolic and dynamic
rotating jet "clouds" of pulverized water and rhythm
transponders.
The fountain's waterjets are lit by 288 coloured spotlights
which project 60 diferent colours through the decomposition
of the main basic colours and coordinated to music by computers.
Special shows of sound and light, every Wednesday and Saturday,
from 9:30pm to 9:50 pm. It also offers other shows with laser
projections and fireworks launchings during special festivities.
The Inner Harbour
Site of the original wharves, the old waterfront is crowded
with modern piers, warehouses and restaurants serving Macanese
and Portuguese food.
Historic Archives
Contains letters, books and manuscripts pertaining to Portugal's
exploration and Macau's relations with Europe, China, Japan,
and Southeast Asia from a wide variety of governmental, civic,
ecclesiastic and private sources. The most valuable have been
put on microfilm, including 7500 items dating from 1587 to
1786.
The archives are houses in one of the mansions in colonial
style in Avenida de Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida restored
by the Macau Government which won the Pacific Area Travel
Association's Heritage Award, in 1982.
