Yongle Palace

The palace is located in Longquan (Dragon Spring) Village, 3 kilometers north of the county seat of Rui-xian. The palace was originally built as a Taoist temple in memory of Lu Dongbin, one of the eight immortals in Chinese mythology. Then the palace was renamed after its location in Yongle. It is renowned for its mural paintings which are considered treasures of art in China as valuable as the frescoes of Dunhuang.
