Shaanxi's Famous and Special Products Qin (Shaanxi) Embroidery
Folk embroidery is a common handicraft in Shaanxi Province. Embroideries
from northern and central Shaanxi are simple in form and bright in color,
and those from southern Shaanxi are exquisite, beautiful, and of fine
workmanship. The Qin embroidery compromises the merits of traditional
Chinese techniques and the local features. Major products include tablecloths,
pillow cases, and cushions.
Yaozhou Porcelain
The
Yaozhou Kiln was a well-known blue porcelain producer in northern China
during the Song Dynasty. At present, the kilns in Yaozhou mainly put
out porcelain pieces for daily use decoration. The products maintain
the varied textures of the Song Dynasty's porcelain.
Imitations of the Tri-colored Glazed Pottery of the Tang Dynasty
The three-colored glazed pottery for decoration purpose made during
the Tang Dynasty is referred to as "tangsancai". Artisans
in Van and Qianxian, by relying on the particularly favorable historical
conditions, succeeded in making imitations of Tang-style tricolored
porttery figurines, horses, camels, and utencils. |
