known as the North Mausoleum, Zhaoling in the northern part of Shenyang
is the tomb of Emperor Taizong and Empress Xiao Duanwen of the Qing
Dynasty. Built in 1651, the eighth year of Emperor Shunzhi's reign,
the tomb is the largest tomb among the three imperial mausoleums outside
the Shanhai Pass. It is divided into three parts. The first part starts
from the Getting-down-from-a-Horse Stone and ends at Zhenghong Gate.
The second part ranges from Zhenghong Gate to the Square City. The third
part includes the Square City, the Crescent Moon City, and Baoding.
