The hometown of Xuan Zhuang is located in Chenhe Village, Houshi Town
of Yanshi, Luoyang. Xuan Zhuang (602- 664), an eminent monk, traveler,
and translator of the Tang Dynasty (618- 907), wrote the Buddhist Records
of the Western World in the Tang Dynasty, which was adapted into the
Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) .
