Gansu, a narrow but long stretched province, extends from the humid subtropical zone in the southeast to the semiarid and arid temperature zone in the northwest, which formed a quite variety of landform complex with spectacular ecological environment.

The majestic and charming grassland scenery mainly in Shandan Army Horse Ranch and Tianzhu pastureland of Mt. Qilian as well as Garman prairie are best for horse-riding tour. The oases agriculture developed in Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan and Dunhuang, which are surrounded by Gobi-desert. There are diverse topographical features in loess plateau and Longnan mountainous region, such as river valleys, hills, plains and forest area and such rare animals as panda and gold monkey live here.
