| Formerly known as Huaxian County, Huadu City
is located in northwestern Guangzhou, with a terrain sloping from northeast
to southwest. It is surrounded on three sides by mountains, and its
southern part is on the northern verge of the Zhujiang River Delta.
The Memorial Hall to Hong Xiuquan displays articles used by Hong Xiuquan,
leader of the Taiping Revolution.
Although he led the anti-Qing uprisings in Jintian, Guangxi, and established
the capital in Nanjing, Hong Xiuquan (1814-64) was a native of Huaxian
County. The county is famous for not only the hometown of Hong Xiuquan
but also a waterfall with a drop of 90 meters in the Lotus Holiday Village
covering an area of 60 square kilometers.
